We serve adults 18 and up with many of our clients over 60. Those we serve are homeless or marginally housed, with little or no income. Many of our clients have experienced domestic violence, trauma, and abuse. A high percentage of the people we serve are also living with mental illness.
We distribute lunch bags Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings between
9:30 - 11:00 AM
We provide lunch bags at our front door three mornings a week between 9:30 and 11:00. We also offer new socks thanks to our partner Bombas. We provide basic toiletries one day a week and have a men's clothing rack when donations make that possible. On request, we provide small bags of cat or dog food.
"Food is always good and sometimes there are extras like a box of cereal. The men’s clothing is really helpful, especially socks and shoes; other items too."
"Everything is Top Notch! The people appreciate this location. It creates a good, friendly attitude for us as we stand in line. Volunteers are friendly, open."

Front Door Communities supports and serves homeless and at-risk men and women in downtown San Jose.
We've adapted both programs during COVID-19 in order to continue to serve unhoused men and women while adhering to social distancing protocols. We also partner with community organizations to provide food, showers, healthcare and other necessities.
"It’s not that many places for women in San Jose. This is a big help for us. Relax, no fear; it is like heaven. Staff is excellent they help you with your need on your level. Safe place great company and resource. Never stop helping us cause we need it. Thank you. ”
